No-one can tell you how to help yourself.
And on top of that, you don’t need any help.
You’re perfect just as you are, whether you’re flat lining or crushing it, sinking in quick sand or flying high. Makes little difference. Whichever one you are now, you’ll be the opposite soon enough.
I could tell you there are ways, methods, techniques for avoiding the ups and downs, but most likely what worked for me, won’t work for you anyway.
We learn by living, by example, by trial and error. We learn by failing miserably time and time again and no self-help book is ever going to tell you that. Mostly they’re going to try to sell you a solution to the problem you’ve been convinced by family, society, teachers, media etc that you MUST have. No doubt, some will tell you to go out and try to fail, as a technique, but what they won’t mention, is that no matter how many times you read about it, or learn about it, you won’t actually do it, whatever technique they’re peddling, until you’re damed well ready to do it, in your own time, in your own way. When it’s right for you to face your shadow, you’ll know it and not a moment before, even if you don’t know what a shadow is in terms of personal psychological development, makes no difference, it’s there all the same and you will know exactly how to deal with it, once you get to the end of the last self help article you’ll ever need to read. Not because I’ll tell you how, but because, it’s a natural process, and it’s arguably the only process, it’s just that you don’t know yet that you know IT already. Read on ….
